I was in line for the iPhone 4 last June at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco at 11pm. They kicked everybody out (disbursed the line) at something like 2am that morning. Talk about a disaster! I really hope security and Apple have a better plan arranged this time! I'm thinking I may try to get off work early and get in line at around 1:00pm

Bought a Macbook Pro this past February, love it.
I am becoming a heavy user of iMovie11 and have produced some cool movies. I have a Panasonic TM 700 HD video camera.
I hosted a premier last night of a movie and was slightly frustrated with the video quality of the DVD. It is not HD, but looks OK. The sound is very good.
I then hooked up my Macbook to the TV (HDMI) and viewed the movie (which was shared to media browser) through iMovie. I setup in preferences to ensure the output was 1080i. Video looked a lot better, but the sound of the background music overshadowed the voice on the people on the movie. Not sure why this changed.
What should I do to maximize the video quality and have the audio match the version I edited?

You're joking right? April fools? The 3DS is the ugliest thing to come out of Nintendo manufacturing in a long long while. The DSi was a nice looking handheld, as well as feeling good as far as ergonomics go. The 3DS is a glossy nightmare and should be used as a showcase of what not to do when it comes to industrial design.

I prefer the Japanese Mac guy. Although I dare say the Justin Long character is probably more truly representative of many Mac users (somewhat smug, somewhat superior, superficially focused on looks) :p

Isn't the new design trickling down to the lower priced models? I heard the Arcade and Pro models currently out are being allowed to go out of stock to be replace by new Slim versions.

That being said, the rural areas in most european countries don't really have a good public transportation infrastructure either, but you're absolutely right, the sheer size of the US makes it worse. Even in rural areas in Europe, you don't have to travel far to get to a train station, airport etc.
But yes, there's the problem with us Europeans. For us the US consists only of very large cities, which indeed have public transport. :)

Don't forget that the Union stripping bill that somehow is going to help with the fake deficit was passed only because it wasn't a revenue related bill.
The deficit itself is not fake per se, Walker's tax giveaways belong to the next budget period (http://politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/18/rachel-maddow/rachel-maddow-says-wisconsin-track-have-budget-sur/) (after June, I think). What is fake is the raging-conflagration-must-hose-everything-NOW aspect of the situation. IOW, deficit: real, crisis: fake.

yeah, but in the end you have a dell "dude". for what its worth, I am very very happy with my mac, I just will not buy a new one until they again are the fastest in the world.
all my PC friends constantly are reformatting their drives, worried about viruses etc

Used to hate the 30pin dock connector till I realized how much it combines.
I love the inclusion of USB3.0.
I just hope the old dock ports/cables will be backwards compatible, I've got so many dock cables.
Also hope Apple will also release something like this to comply with the EU standards...

Maybe its just me, but when i watched a rather small version of the invitation banner, it looked like there was a "Q" and a "3", drawen with icons.. or what?

I have noticed that a lot of the new folders (including myself) are folding a lot of points for the team, great to see :)

When you are watching a YouTube video, I tend to forget where the home button is. Or when surfing the web for some time while in the dark.
And I don't literally mean glow in the dark like those cheap Halloween things, I'm talking about an actual light behind the capitative square symbol which has a sensor which turns on when there is a certain level of darkness.
I can easily envisage this happening . It would look fantastic.
Wouldn't that be so annoying in the dark, like the backlight on the keyboard of a MBP when your watching a movie?

Perhaps it would be more palatable with a monthly subscription rather than coughing up $99 for a full year in advance. Heck, they could charge higher monthly fees for increased storage and I bet people would pay.
This isn't 2004. 1gb total storage for email and idisk is pitiful when Yahoo, Hotmail and Google already offer over 2gb of email space alone, for free.
