The link you provide is what I referenced in my post. It's important for people to realize that Net Applications breaks down Apple's operating system into Mac OS (PowerPC) and MacIntel (Intel).
It's clear that PowerPC Mac use has remained fairly unchanged for the past year (slightly down) but Intel based Macs are on the rise. This makes sense considering that Apple no longer sells PowerPC based Macs.

Do these devices need to access anything on your LAN, or do they just need Internet access ?
If they need LAN access, then if you're thinking about just using mac address filtering for them, then why bother with WPA2e for the rest ?
If they just need Internet access, then use a different SSID connected to a VLAN that only has Internet access, obviously with suitable firewall rules in place.
I tend to suggest using a wired connection for anything that doesn't support wireless at the required security level, and if it only supports wireless at a level that doesn't meet the required security level, then I wouldn't purchase it.

No. Steve Jobs has consistantly talked about the Mac Culture having class. The Windows culture doesn't. The ad about the Mac home video illustrates this point, with Gisele. That Dell has some random pothead trying to sound hip and the Get a Mac ads have Justin Long, a successful actor and purported teenage-heart-throb, further illustrates this point. This is the same reason Apple spend $4M on the 1984 ad and had Jeff Goldblum and Richard Dryfus narrate their TV ads while PC ads usually have spinning text and always end with the Intel doorbell.

My Vzw iPhone also had this issue last night, but it shows the correct time now. And judging from other posts, Vzw fixed this issue at some point in the night. I bet a lot of vzw iphones were affected, but most people did not notice any issue because it happened while most ppl were asleep and it was resolved by morning..

Apple would not put a capacitive home button. If anything, they'd remove the home button all together and use some of the new gestures that appeared briefly in iOS 4.3 to multitask and go home.

Checked my phone at about 3:06 this morning, when I hit the sleep/wake button the lockscreen clock said 2:06, but as soon as I unlocked the screen the clock adjusted to 3:06, hardly a problem for me, and Verizon iPhone by the way.

This is great, now :apple: seem to be back on track to continuously release improved hardware technology.
It was sad when they took away the Firewire out of the iPod.
Something like the European requirement, in the US the cable TV providers have to provide firewire equipped cable boxes, so the users can get Firewire video out them. Normally you have to ask for it, and they have to give it to you.
Thunderbolt will kick ass.

Australian dollars, I thought AMD just so I could afford a better GPU, maybe even a GTX285. Is ATI going to get better by a lot? I have only looked at Nvidea because of folding. I will use the rig for light gaming but would love to play WOW on High and any current games at Med with 1080 res.
What Intel would you recommend on a budget?

PLEASE... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... don't talk if you don't know what you are saying. I'm not perfect... but I can absolutely, ABSOLUTELY guarantee ... GUARANTEE YOU... that you CAN indeed boot XP from the new Macs WITHOUT BOOTCAMP WHATSOEVER.
That is how I have my iMac (24") setup...
The FIRST thing I did when I took her out of the box was insert the WINXP SP2 CD... (nothing slipstreamed)... and hold down the "c" key...
Voila! Booting into XP Setup... COMPLETELY FORMATTED THE ENTIRE 500GB DRIVE with XP... and she runs great.
I then attached an EXTERNAL FW800 RAID 0 Setup (1TB now)... and boot OS X off that external slice...
So... JUST SO YOU KNOW! Please try not to confuse the rest of the class Billy, uhmKay? ;)

I had a problem here in Arizona where there is no daylight savings time. I have the my AT&T iPhone set to auto set date and time and it was a hour ahead.

A very nice job on the translations. Besides generally knowing what they were saying (as everyone else could, since we knew the English), I couldn't pick up anywhere close to what you got. However, on the "uiurus" one, the second to last line should start

Anyway, as I was rolling thru the posts, I saw that someone already identified the "art of eating sushi" video they did. If anyone cares, they are a comedy duo called Ramens ???? and they have another video that is google-able about the art of apologizing. Not as good, but still funny. There are also a couple of other Flash(?) skits they do (at least it sounds like them...it is just (minimal) animation) riffing on Tokyo train station names (called kyoubashi ??) and on prefecture names (ibaraki ??) that are amusing. Especially if you see yourself in that particular language class.

A developer friend of mine tried to download the previous dev release for my system (iMac G5), but it wouldn't install right for some reason. It would hang on restart. I had to re-install from the CD and re-update everything. Even tried disabling all my hacks and startup items, but it just did it again. I believe it was the combo version (2117 I think). I'm thinking it didn't get download right or something though, because he was able to get it working on his (Intel and PPC), a friend of our's (dual G5 PowerMac), and my Mother's (Intel mini). Hoping the new one works better, but if not, at least I know how to fix it. :rolleyes: When it works though, it's fast. Real fast.

You could do a whois search and see where the DNS records point to and perhaps there is a Technical Contact showing the company name/address.

In my opinion, Microsoft is beginning to die a slow painful death. Everyone is tired of their ************ and half-assed attempts of secure computing. Everyone always complains that Macs are not open enough, well I think the opposite is true. Apple embraces open standards and even invents and shares them when none exist, while Microsoft shuns and sometimes even steals others work, in a attempt to push their own proprietary formats and stifle progress.
Funny that Microsoft pushed the ever-so-slow W3C to standardize further dynamic HTML/etc. technologies to become standard. Of course, W3C can't keep current to allow people to innovate in the web presentation standards. Microsoft is even pushing XML very hard with .NET Web Services. And yes, Macs are closed. Not in software, but in hardware. Maybe you were confused by the definition of Macs being closed. The older Macintosh hardware is so proprietary it's not funny. Recent Macs adopt technology that had been in PCs before, except FireWire of course, because Apple invented that. But the hardware is still proprietary. I don't see that we are able to take off-the-shelf high quality components and build our own PowerPC computers then slap Mac OS X on it.
